Praise the Lord, everybody! Pastor D.M. is back to cover information on the late scandal involving renown Christian apologist Ravi Zacharias of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM). Ravi has been in the news as of late because of whispers of both academic and moral fraud, and I believe that it is my job to warn God’s sheep about those who name the name of Christ and the lies that are uncovered about them.

I want to say here that I have no personal vendetta against Ravi Zacharias. I don’t feel threatened by him in any way, I have no ulterior motive to “take him down,” as some would say, and I have no hatred in my heart against the man and his family. In fact, I grew up listening to Ravi Zacharias (no doubt, the influence of my mother), and was born in the 80’s, just as his ministry was exploding. Until this scandal, I knew him as a giant in the Christian faith and am simply heartbroken over the information that I’ve been shown in recent weeks.

We’re going to use this time to dig deep into Scripture, what it says about lying and its consequences, as well as how we can look at the scandal before us with eyes of faith. I want it to be known that Ravi Zacharias can be forgiven by the Lord, but he and his team must stop editing book covers, stop eliminating his “three doctorates” claim from those same book covers, admit the truth, and “let the chips fall where they may.”

Scripture says that “He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy” (Proverbs 28:13). One cannot do some PR editing, removing all paper trails of infidelity to one’s spouse and all fraudulent academic claims, claim that “everyone’s out to get me, the claims about me are lies,” and then presume that God will smile on his or her ministry. The Lord delights in the truth, not lies, for lying is not of God. He is not a liar, and Scripture says that “it is impossible for God to lie.”

Let me just say that I love you, am praying for you, and always making mention of you in my prayers.
