Bible Questions

We here at The Essential Church are dedicated to teaching and preaching the Word of God to the People of God. As such, we are interested in your questions about Scripture. Is there something you’ve heard about Scripture or theology that you’re curious about? Is there some subject you’re interested in learning more about? Want to know about a particular theologian, writer, or Doctrine?

Now, some may wonder why it is that we ask for your questions here. We do so because we are committed to teaching the Word of God in a relevant manner. The Word of God is living, breathing, active, and sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12), and we believe that it should be active in the life of the believer. Anyone can memorize Bible verses; it always comes down to how do X and Y verses apply to the life of the believer. Exhortation must always include application, and we cannot teach the whole counsel of God if we leave you with a few Bible verses with no counsel on how to proceed with these verses in your life for the days ahead. Your input could influence a teaching and preaching series or two (or many!), or help guide the next work that our pastor, Pastor D.M. Richardson, intends to write.

If you have a desire to learn about something related to Scripture, feel free to post a question here or contact us at if you need to send us a prayer request or find your comment too complex to post here.

For those who have prayer requests, we recommend submitting a request at our church email address above or use the Contact page.

Again, we’re honored that you’ve made your way to our page. Thanks again for your visits to The Essential Church, along with your support, social media shares, and prayers. May the Lord continue to bless you and keep you until the end. God bless you.

  1. What exactly in Scripture leads you to the conclusion that Christ was black? Were Matthew and Luke wrong in telling us that Christ came from Jewish kings and leaders? I’m curious as to what statement in Revelation you’re referring to.
