Happy Veteran’s Day to each of you. The Lord has blessed us to see this Veteran’s Day. As I write this announcement, my family is preparing to lay my cousin, who passed away this past week due to cancer, to rest. So, we’re mourning in a sense while still trying to find joy in the holiday season. I ask for your prayers for my family, that the Lord would comfort my cousin’s husband as only He can. It’s not easy to lose your wife when you’ve been joined to her for over 30 years. There are four children, two sons and two daughters (all adults), so take time to pray for them today as you enjoy a day to honor those who’ve fought for our country. November 11th will prove to be a hard day for us in the future.

We want to share with you the upcoming events here at The Essential Church so that you keep an eye out for us on social media. So, without further ado, you can find them below.

Veteran’s Day Service – tomorrow, November 12th at 11AM

The Lord is preparing us here at The Essential Church to celebrate our Veteran’s Day Service tomorrow, on November 12th, at the usual 11:00am hour. We’ve been celebrating Thanksgiving Month at the church, but the Lord is sovereign and always free to interrupt our plans (He is God, not us). The Lord has given me a message for this coming Veteran’s Day that speaks to a very current, political issue we’ve all been hearing about, reading about, and perhaps even praying about, and I believe that the Word of God addresses every situation we encounter in life.

Mark your calendars to listen in tomorrow after 1PM EST as we share our service here at the site. If you’re interested in joining the live worship service, feel free to contact me at essentialpastor@gmail.com or at find us under the Twitter handle 2or34Christ on social media.

You can check out our most recent special service, Harvest Sunday 2017, if you need a word of encouragement in your current circumstances and ministry.

Official Thanksgiving Sunday – November 19th at 11am

Next Sunday is our official Thanksgiving Sunday, November 19th, so mark your calendars for that. We’ve been selecting worship songs for the service that show that we’re grateful and thankful to God for His goodness in a month that is set aside to “Give Thanks,” but we can (and should) give thanks to the Lord everyday for His goodness, for His provision, for His loving watch over all He has made.

We ask for your prayers and your support by listening or reading the sermons on our site here, like them on Twitter, and follow us there if you so choose. If you’re listening in and reading our sermons, please feel free to reach out to us and let us know you’re supporting us. Every listener, every subscriber, every sermon reader, and every social media follower counts.

Bible Study Series: “Husband of One Wife”

We’re currently studying the phrase “husband of one wife” in 1 Timothy 3:2, 12, and whether or not it disqualifies those who’ve been married more than once. You may not share this view, but it is a strong one in some Baptist circles. The Word of God is designed to correct false doctrine, and barring folks from ministry because of a second marriage is dishonoring to God in that it is false doctrine.

We’ve already covered widows remarrying as one evidence against the “married only once” view, but there’s more to do. Please feel free to stay tuned for the remainder of the series; we’ll be in it for the next few weeks. Pray for the Bible Study series, and pray for your heart as well as the hearts of others who will hear the Word of God in our teaching time.

The Essential Church has its first book published

I know, I know; you’re thinking the church has a book published in its name. No, that’s not the case (yet – stay on the lookout, though), but we do have a book we’d love to recommend to you.

The Lord has blessed me as Pastor to see my first book published. Called Short-Sighted Faith: Once Saved, Always Saved (OSAS) and the Doctrine of Perseverance, the book is designed to show that the idea of eternal security is Calvinist in nature and only for the elect – that is, those that are given the gift of perseverance (as Calvin says).

The book prices are as follows: $9.99 on Amazon Kindle and $30.00 as a paperback. We appreciate your continued support as we seek to uplift the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

These are all the announcements we have for now.

Are you interested in being a part of our services and want to have audio access to our sermons as they are preached live? Do you have any special prayer requests or concerns in life and want us to partner with you in prayer? Well then, write us at the gmail email address above or contact us at Twitter via our Twitter handle to express your desire to meet us for worship.

We love you, thank God for you, and can’t wait to worship the Lord with you on the Lord’s Day tomorrow.

See you there!
